EWC Scholarships

The Eastland Wood Council has two scholarships of $1500 each year, for:

  • A student enrolled in full time relevant industry tertiary study; or
  • An employee within the industry who aspires to further training; to improve their skills, knowledge and value to the employer.

Scholarship Criteria

CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO:
  • The qualification and industry pathway
  • Academic achievement
  • The benefit to the individual and the industry
  • Character and leadership potential
  • Potential to contribute to the forestry industry in the Eastland region

Applications have now closed for 2019.

Recipients will be presented with their scholarship at the Annual Eastland Wood Council Forestry Awards on the 17th May 2019.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed. You may be required to attend an interview. Recipients will then be presented with their scholarship.

 

Scholarship Regulations

  • Eastland Wood Council is not obliged to offer a scholarship if, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
  • The recipient of the scholarship will, if required, take part in publicity activities as required by the Eastland Wood Council. These are usually restricted to photo opportunity on the announcement of the scholarship award.
  • Eastland Wood Council may vary these regulations at any time.

 

Please note: There is an expectation to provide a written report at the end of your 12 month period to the Eastland Wood Council outlining your progress. You will be contacted regarding this in due course.

THE SCHOLARSHIP IS SOLELY ADMINISTERED BY THE EASTLAND WOOD COUNCIL
